Vacation Gone Bad

So our perfect family vacation has just crumbled into dust....all thanks to Swine Flu. Oh well, such is life. If you've been following along with us for anytime since we got married, you know that Jeremy and I have led a crazy life. Nothing is what it seems and nothing ever stays the same. We don't know exactly how this is all going to work out, but for now, we aren't sailing on our cruise Sunday that was supposed to go to Mexico and now is going to (get this!) San Francisco, Seattle, and Victoria, BC. It's cold here, so NO thanks! So we are postponing until later. If this whole thing blows over soon, then hopefully we'll get to take the cruise we'd planned on at a later date. But if we get to the point of moving home with Mexico still being off limits, then we'll just use the credit for a Caribbean cruise later. In the meantime, we had planned on going to Disneyland for 2 days before the cruise and Claire has her little heart just set on meeting Mickey and gang and Cinderella (yes, she is obsessed!!). She talks about it all day long. She's even taken my brochures away from me and sits on the floor just pouring over them for hours. So we are working on rearranging for next week and possibly going for longer. So for all those wondering, that's the scoop.

Easter

Despite being so far from home over a holiday, we had a great day!! We started off the day with Claire getting her Easter basket and surprises from the Easter Bunny. It was easy to see his theme, everything was Cinderella! Can't imagine why?! The only thing Claire isn't more obsessed with than Cinderella, is Mickey and crew. After going through all her gifts, she suddenly spied an egg, then another, and another and the hunt was on with no coaching from us. She's so smart! After eating a nice breakfast, we headed to church down in San Mateo. After service we had a huge Easter Egg hunt for the kids in the courtyard. Claire had a blast.

After that we drove down to San Jose to have lunch with Jeremy's grand-big brother from Theta Xi, Adam Corkins and his wife, Sarah. The meal was superb, only surpassed by the company. We took Claire's bed with us so she could nap while we talked but Claire was too enthralled with their dog Kona and their friends' dog, Judy, that they were dog-sitting. She played hard with both dogs all day. We didn't head back to SF until 9:30pm. What a great day!!

I put our Easter pics into a slide show for you to view. If the slide show has stopped playing and you want to view again, click on the little x in the corner. Also if you don't see the captions to the pics, just float your mouse over the pic to see it.

Poop on the Potty

We had a big success tonight in that Claire finally got her first poop in the potty. She's very proud of herself and hopefully this will be the motivation she needs to really get going on a successful trend. She had gotten the peeing part figured out right before the move but regressed big time once we got out here. She really wants to wear her big girl panties so we'll see if this helps her motivation to get there. The first pic shows her sitting in front of her chart giving a big "cheese" smile where you can see the chocolate she got to eat as reward and the 2nd shows her pointing to her new lion sticker she got to put on the chart. Enjoy! (Oh and if you want to call and congratulate her, she loves phone calls! LOL!)

AWOL

Sorry we've been AWOL. After the move to SF, my computer died and was out of commission for a couple of weeks. I've got it back now and in between catching up on emails and planning some upcoming trips, I'm trying to get the blog caught up with all the happenings of the last couple of months. Check back often.

Grandparents, eat your heart out......

Just before we left we had Claire's Easter and 2 yr old photos taken at Portrait Innovations. She's not quite the camera ham that she has been in the past but we still got some good shots. See below for all the poses we purchased, of course there are many more on the CD but I'll save the rest of you from the torture, Grandparents you can download later.

Grandparents.....I'm holding all your usual 5x7's hostage out here in San Fran, if you want them, come get them. Otherwise, you'll just have to drool at the computer until July or August. Yes, I know you're going to report me to the United American Grandparents Union for grandparent abuse, but a Mommy has to do what a Mommy has to do to get visitors to come visit her sweet baby that misses her Grandparents so much!!!!

(Yup, I think they just logged on to Travelocity.....)
