Been absent for awhile....

So let's see if i can bring this blog up to date really quick while Claire is off playing at a neighbors house for a bit.

So the SF project is finally over. Jeremy literally had to tell them where to stick it to get away, but God confirmed to us over and over it was the right move. The job was about to kill him or our marriage so we are grateful to be done with it. After that Jeremy worked on a project in Cyprus (as in island in the Med. Sea, not Cypress, FL). In true Worldtraveling Mommy fashion, I packed up my sidekick on 2 days notice and Clairebeth and I went too. We had a great time. The first day of jet lag wasn't so much fun when I had to wander the hotel lobby with her at 4am, but since we were staying at the only 5 star hotel on the island, well, it wasn't so bad when you had hotel staff snapping to attention and appearing out of nowhere with glasses of milk and coloring materials to try and help the situation.....I could get spoiled really easy!! Even though it was January, we still had fabulous weather and Claire and I got to do a lot of sightseeing. Poor Daddy was stuck in the IBM building the whole time. But the hotel had an indoor pool so we at least took Daddy swimming after work. Claire did great on all the flights and layovers. 36 hrs to get there. We all flew together from ATL to Amsterdam. Then Daddy got to go direct while we had to fly on to Prague, then to Larnaka. On the way home it was the same thing but we built in a 24 hr layover in Amsterdam. Daddy had our train tix waiting, we left most of the luggage in a locker at the airport and went downtown. We did a boat tour of the canals and watch a great snowfall. Spent the night then headed back to the airport where Daddy discovered he's lost his passport. Claire and I flew on home while Daddy and the luggage got stuck. Luckily the hotel found his passport and he made the next day's flight. It may have been a blessing in disguise as it gave Daddy a day to just sleep and chill after all he'd been through on the SF project. If anyone is wondering about the secret to transatlantic flying with a 2yr old......portable DVD players!!!!! And don't forget the plug adaptors for when you reach Europe. Also, a lot of the big hub airports in Europe now have on-site hotels. As in you don't have to leave the secured area of the airport to get a private room with a LOCK that you can safely take a nap or shower in and not have to worry that your child could wonder off (kidnapping in Europe is rare) or get pickpocketed (much more likely!!). We stayed in one for 9hrs in AMS and 6hrs in PRG. Quite the lifesaver!

We also got a trip in to WDW with our friends the Geylings and the Caldwells. We went to watch the Caldwells run their first Half Marathons but making a weekend vacation of it was fun. We did 2 days in the park. 1 day at AK which was new for all of us and 1 day in MK which was only new for Claire. (Claire has visited MK in DL and DL Paris but the castles there are Sleeping Beauty's castle so it was big to see Cinderella's castle this time.) On the MK day we took all the girls to the castle for breakfast with the princesses, that was a special Mommy/Daughter time.

FebruaryMarch had Jeremy doing 2-3 wk projects and several different locals and some bench time which was nice!!! I ran my first Half Marathon in Jax, Fl on Feb 21st and then my 2nd here in Atlanta on March21st. It was a blast but my knee paid for it and I had to take the month of April off per docs orders.

Claire accomplished the potty training thing back in the fall while we were on a cruise in the Caribbean (make up cruise from the one that got Swine-flued out last May). She was very happy to earn her big girl panties. She's now completely potty trained even including nights. I'd say she had it by her B-day in March. She had a princess party and it was fabulous.

The biggest news now is that we found out in April that we are expecting a new baby by the end of the year. Claire is so excited to be a big sister but does let us know she wants a sister. We'll see of course, I think she'll be ok if it's a boy, but with her you never know what she'll do.

So I think that's the highlights. Maybe I'll get around to posting pics of everything soon. Then maybe I can maintain this again as we add in a new person around here.

Oh but stay tuned, being pg hasn't slowed us down, we are heading overseas again in Sept as Cousin Eleanora from Italy is marrying wonderful Marco so we are going over for the wedding. We plan to go a week before to make sure that volcano doesn't mess us up and we hope to hit Paris and the Riveria on our way to Lucca. We'll see of course, no plans for sure yet. Planning a intl trip 4 mo out is a new concept for us.....we have time to plan and anticipate. WOW!!
